Cocoplans taps BPI as new credit card payment option

Cocoplans has set a new payment option with the help of Ayala’s Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) to better serve its planholders.

In a merchant agreement signed by Cocoplans President Caesar T. Michelena and BPI Vice-President, Cecile A. Dela Paz, BPI has agreed to engage in the business of acquiring credit, debit and/or prepaid card transactions done by cardholders who purchased goods and/or services from Cocoplans, Inc.

President Michelena signed the said agreement in the presence of Client Servicing Operation Division Vice-President, Mark Emmanuel C. Banzon and Customer Service Department Head, Arvin Cardeño, making BPI as one of the payment options for planholders who use credit cards in paying their dues.

“It is not really a tie up. It is more of Cocoplans being a BPI client and helping our planholders”, CSD Head Cardeño said in an interview when asked about the nature of agreement.

The agreement was done due to the telemarketing’s request of having observed the growing number of client using BPI credit cards.

BPI installed Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal for credit-cards and provided Cocoplans with E-MOTO facility that allows e-commerce merchants to enjoy easy credit-card bank authorization over the internet for on-line debiting.

Cocoplans planholders can still pay their dues through Automatic Debit Arrangement (ADA) with UCPB, Over-the-Counter, and Credit card (VISA, MasterCard, JCB, American Express) payments.
